TELSTORM was retained as the structural consultant for a building “recladding” project. The existing building structure had been stripped back to the original steel framing. Our team surveyed the entire steel structure to verify the member sizes and connection configuration due to a lack of base building drawings. The steel structure was analyzed considering current OBC code requirements. Any overstressed members were reinforced and new members were added to support the new loading and the new cladding specified by the architect.
